A Young Version of Extraordinary People

Remarkable Children

This was part of the Extraordinary People series of documentaries recording the lives of some truly amazing young people. Most have been born with some genetic disorder which has had enormous repercussions on their young lives.

This also impacts greatly on their families who need to become superhuman to cope with the constant care and mental anxiety caused. In some cases the, almost certain, loss at an early age is an inescapable prospect that must be faced, and trying to make the most of the time available becomes the main focus.

But, not all of the articles featured here are about illness and disability. Some are quite the contrary: stories of fantastic physical achievement or unbelievable abilities at an early age.

Recent additions include Budhia Singh, the four year old Indian boy who runs half marathons, and Cameron Macauley who has memories of a past life.

These are heart-rending realities which really bring home how lucky most of us are.
